A life-long storyteller, Lesley Porterfield has a BA in English Language and Literature with a minor in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland (UMD). Throughout their time at UMD Lesley developed a distinct creative voice as a member of the Jimenez-Porter Writers’ House with a focus on historical fiction, classic mythology, and queer romance. As a result, they have been featured in Bryn Mawr College's debut zine "Mythos," The Jimenez-Porter Writers’ House’s “Stylus,” and was honored at UMD’s 2022 and 2023 LitFest awards program. Porterfield self-published their first book, Stories from the Dark: Queer Folklore and Mythology from around the World in May of 2023 and is currently working on their first novel, a queer, historical fiction piece set in eighteenth century Scotland. When not writing or editing Lesley enjoys cooking, reading, crafting, and playing Baldur's Gate III.
